Sales Executive

Sterling, Virginia, United States | Sales and Customer Success | Full-time | Partially remote


Sestra Systems, an innovative startup delivering smart dispensing solutions to the beverage industry, is currently recruiting for a self-starting Sales Executive. This position will help drive Sestra’s efforts in new customer acquisition and business development functions to help generate relationships, partnerships and revenue.



The primary goal for our Sales Executives is to attain new and named account client installations while building the pipeline to meet Sestra sales objectives. This role will partner with other teams, as necessary, to achieve these objectives.

  • Making calls / scheduling meetings  and setting demonstration to build and manage lead development pipeline
  • Prospect into multiple organizations via cold-calling, networking, e-mail/e-marketing, and utilizing Internet information sources
  • Articulate Sestra's value proposition to decision-makers across multiple industries to assess buying interest
  • Achieve or exceed goal for meetings, demonstrations and proposals on a monthly basis
  • Develop and qualify all sales leads based upon specific lead qualification criteria definitions
  • Provide baseline research within targeted accounts to identify key contacts, decision makers,  and critical account information prior to prospecting call
  • Develop superior customer service relationship with prospects and manage the account for growth and expansion
  • Learn and demonstrate a fundamental understanding of the Company technology – and clearly articulate capabilities and advantages to prospective customers
  • Contribute to every component of the critical functions associated with fulfilling the sales cycle (forecasting and pipeline management, reporting, customer database maintenance and data entry, correspondence, and communications)
  • Provide weekly activity report to management
  • Proactively contribute to sales materials including company product and competitive product and market knowledge via website, on-line webinars, and marketing information
  • Organize and participate in pre-sales support (e.g. site surveys), installs, and ongoing customer success
  • Update lead rank/stage and prospect interaction in Company CRM



  • Minimum 1-2 years in direct technology sales
  • Proven “A” player with high Sales IQ
  • Self-starter who works well in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated past performance against sales quota in similar role
  • Ability to understand and successfully promote technical offerings and solution sets
  • Excellent communication skills in writing, speaking, listening and cold-calling
  • Ability to converse with and influence key decision makers
  • Contacts in the hospitality industry a big plus for warm leads
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, entrepreneurship, or other relevant major or equivalent experience
  • Sales experience in IoT also a plus
  • Computer proficiency, experience in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with CRM a plus


Our headquarters is based in Sterling, VA. This role may or may not require relocation. The ability to work remotely will be considered for exceptional candidates in desired territories.  Remote sales team members will have a dual responsibility to provide easy, occasional, on site customer support when needed
